Hey friends! I’m back with another retro renovation update! If you’ve been following along I shared the very retro house that my good friends purchased. I also shared some bathroom ideas, and construction progress. Initially they worked with a wonderful local architectual designer who helped them pick out a floorplan, cabinet choices, and major color decisions. You can actually see the mock-up of their design over on their website. You can also follow them on Facebook. I’ve been helping with some of the smaller design decisions like fixtures, furniture, and window coverings. Today I’m SO pumped to share another update and this time the kitchen has been installed!
Originally, the kitchen took up half the space and there was a small eat-in kitchen. They expanded the footprint into the eat in kitchen. This is a photo standing in the original eat-in kitchen.
Here is a photo now standing in almost the same space, looking towards the dining room which has been opened up!
Here is a photo of the original brick oven wall:
Here it is now! I’m so glad they kept the brick because it adds so much character! I also LOVE the color that they painted it.
Here’s one more before shot of the original eat-in kitchen.
Now on that wall next to the sliding door they created this cute little coffee bar!
The quartz counters just got installed yesterday and they look amazing.Â
Yesterday Michelle Dupras from Revisions Design Studio stopped by to show some lighting options. These are ceramic pendant lights that she makes! She also made the ceramic hanging baskets that I have hanging in my home.
Here is a shot of the dining room before:
Now it’s been opened up and a sliding door has been added. Doesn’t it look amazing?!
The kitchen is where the most progress has been made, but I’ll walk you through a few other spaces now that they have paint on them! Here is a shot of the living room from the top of the stairs before.
Now it looks like this!
This shot is looking back towards the stairs before:
Now it is bright and open! Hopefully flooring will be going in soon so that the new railing can be installed!
These simple white doors will be installed throughout the entire house.
This very green bathroom was completely gutted.
This was the first of the tile to go in and I’m LOVING the way this cement tile looks!
The carpeted conversation pit was VERY green before.
Now it’s been painted and we just picked out some fabric for the cushions to be upholstered with!
With flooring starting next week this house will be wrapping up soon! I can’t wait to share the finished reveal pictures with you!
