My Favorite Faux Trees for Every Home

September 10, 2019 By BrightGreenDoor

Every time I share a photo of my living room on Instagram or Facebook I get compliments on my Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig. Today I wanted to share all of my favorite faux trees for every home. As much as live greenery is beautiful, it also requires work. I love that with faux plants the only thing they require is occasional dusting! For this roundup I only shared trees 5′ or taller. Anything shorter feels more like a plant and less tree-ish. I love that a tree can bring some color and texture to higher spaces that often feel sparse.

Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees

Fiddle leaf figs have been popular for a while now but I don’t think they’re going anywhere. I’ve got many faux fiddle leaf plants throughout my house and one tree. Their bright green leaf color feels very summery to me, so often I store mine  in the basement during the Fall and Winter. One key to making a faux fiddle leaf tree look natural is spreading out the leaves and branches.

Olive Trees

I’m pretty sure that olive trees are the next big thing. Some of them have a more sculpted topiary look while others are more sparse and natural looking. I’m thinking of replacing my Fiddle Leaf for Fall with one of these.

Ficus Trees

Ficus trees come in a ton of different looks and styles, and are a timeless tree. They’re similar to the look of the olive tree without the olives and are just a bit fuller. These are great if you need to fill a corner, or take up a bit more visual space.

Baskets

It wouldn’t be right for me to round up my favorite faux trees without rounding up baskets. Most of the time faux trees don’t come in baskets big enough for the size of the tree and they end up looking really top heavy. By plopping a tree into a beautiful basket it grounds the tree and adds extra texture. Just make sure the basket opening is big enough for the widest part of your pot, so that you don’t have to remove the tree from it’s original pot.
