As you know currently I’m working on helping my friend with the retro house that they are renovating. The house has a LONG island which will seat 7! Currently they’re on the hunt for stools and new dining chairs that will coordinate.Â
They have an existing wood table in storage that they plan to use so I wanted to stay away from most wood options. The dining space is the room you see just past the island, so you will see all 15 stools and chairs at the same time!
I learned that it’s really easy to find great chairs, or great stools, but finding ones that coordinate is hard! Our requirements were: affordable, not much assembly required, and easy to clean. I *think* all of these fit the bill! **This post contains affiliate links**
Flash Metal White Chair ($58.06) and Stool ($75)
Windsor White  Wood Chair ($149.99 for 2) and Stool ($79.99)
Metal Tolix in White Chair ($92 for 2) and Stool ($90 for 2)
Windsor Black Wood Chair ($149.99 for 2) and Stool ($79.99)
Metal Tolix Bronze with Wood Seat Chair ($120 for 2) and Stool ($104 for 2)
Tolix Matte Black Chair ($114 for 2) and Stool ($120 for 2)
Black (or Brown) Leather Chair ($190 for 2) and Stool ($157)
Modway Walnut and Metal Chair ($198 for 2) and Stool ($128.86)
So what do you think?! Which chairs and stools would you choose? After presenting these options to her she’s leaning towards the matte black tolex stools and chairs. Hopefully these are helpful if you’re on the hunt for new modern stools or chairs!
I’d mix it up with the modway walnut and metal chairs for the table & the black leather stools for the bar area. They compliment each other sooo very well and create interest without feeling like everything is too similar. Fun options you found!
I like that combo! The leather are my very favorites and now I want to get them for our house!
I like the walnut ones to warm it up a bit but considering the table is wood, the leather are my second favorite.
Hi, Jess. I would choose the Windsor White Wood Chair for the island and Modway Walnut and Metal Chairs for the wood table. I hope to see what you’ve come up with. 🙂
Thanks! I LOVE the way those ones looked! They ended up sticking with their old Oak chairs for now, and they’re still trying to decide what to get. I’ll be photographing the space in two weeks and sharing it on the blog shortly after! I really can’t wait to share it with you!
