What to Hang on a Kitchen Gallery Wall
Recently I DIY’ed a new pantry in our kitchen, which meant that I had to take down one of my favorite parts of the kitchen, the gallery wall. Once the pantry was complete I was anxious to rearrange and rehang a new gallery wall.
A. Old frame and printable quote
B. Thrifted frame with printable quote (can’t find where I got it).
C.”McGurn” Crocheted Name Doily was a wedding gift from a relative.
D. Bonnie Mohr Living Life Quote and Art Print purchased from here. (I actually bought it last Christmas for my mom and it arrived damaged. They sent me a new one and let me keep the old one so it has a few creases, but I’ll just call it character!)
E. Big Fork. Hobby Lobby
F. State Art Prints of Michigan (where we met), Colorado (where our love’s were born), and North Dakota (Home in the Bakken) purchased on Etsy.
G. Ikea frame with wedding pictures from our wedding, my brother’s wedding, and my sister’s wedding.
H. Ikea frame and pic from our honeymoon
I. Framed North Dakota grain sack from an auction.
J. Mother’s day paintings from the boys
K. Oval Chalkboard painted by me
M. Ikea print and frame from my mom
N. Thrifted Magnetic Board
O. Old frame with printable quote.
As you can see, just about anything is fair game when it comes to gallery walls. I think that a chalkboard, a mirror, and something sculptural (in this case a giant fork), always make a unique combination. I also like to include pictures, quotes, magnetic, cork or bulletin boards, and textiles (on this wall a crocheted doily and a grain sack).
When we moved into this house the kitchen did not reflect my style at all. Even though I’d love to replace the countertops and possibly paint the cabinets, this gallery wall has made it feel like it’s much more me. It also makes for an excellent conversation piece when with friends, because it reflects so much of us.
