Winter Dining Room and Some New Furniture

Hey friends! Happy New Year! I have been blown away by the positive response I’ve gotten to my last post, where I shared our before and after pictures from the last year in our Marquette house.

I left you with one teaser picture of my winter dining room but today I’m back to share my Winter Dining Room and Some New Furniture! I actually took my Christmas decor down a few days before Christmas since we were traveling for the holiday. It felt so nice to come home to a fresh and clean home.
Although my Christmas decor is down, I left up anything that I considered “winter”. Things like these bottle brush trees, the garland hung in the window, and a few different sprigs of greenery and snowflakes throughout the house. I guess you could call my winter style “white, gold, and greenery”.
You may have noticed our newest furniture update. Just before Christmas we added two of the Chanel dining chairs from Article. These chairs are exactly what this dining room needed.

With kids we could never go with all upholstered chairs, but having them at the head and foot of the table bring just the right amount of elegance and softness to the space. 

I also love the color and modern style of these chairs. The arms are just the right height to slide perfectly under our Dining Table.

This dining table was a thrifted find that just recently I decided to take a coat of Amy Howard black paint to. The black paint on the legs and base help tone down all of the wood in this room. This is the same paint that I used on the fireplace and I freaking love it.

Even though everyone loves a good picture of a beautiful tablescape, this is how our table looks most of the time. Me working, with an iced coffee. Well.. and of course this is where we do school too.. but that doesn’t look nearly as nice. Between three hours of school a day, meals, and all the time I spend working here, these chairs are getting a lot of love.
