Winter in the Woods… Living in a snow globe!

This morning we were lucky enough to wake up to a fresh blanket of snow along with a text message from the school saying school was cancelled for a snow day! This was our view from our dining rooms! Winter in the woods is the absolute best time of the year, and we couldn’t wait to get out an enjoy our snow day!

While enjoying our snow day I grabbed my camera so that I could share the beauty of our new backyard with you all! I’ll warn you, this post is picture heavy of beautiful winter scenes. WAY in the back of our lot we have this adorable little red shed that is just way too picture perfect.

I couldn’t resist sharing some pics of the fluffy snow preached on all of the evergreen branches.

We also have this gorgeous fence that is just barely standing along the edge of our property. It probably needs to be torn down, but until then I’ll enjoy taking lots of pictures of it.

This boy. He’s been missing his front teeth for far too long, and we’re starting to question if they’ll ever come in?!! 

Then there’s this one… I love how even though you can’t see his smile you can see his smile in his eyes.

After spending the last four years in the mostly snow-less tundra of North Dakota we are LOVING every bit of this fluffy snow!

Over on the side of our house we’ve got this perfect swing. I think  MANY hours are going to be spent there swinging and talking.

Then on the other side we’ve got this kids swing. 

In our week and half living here it has already given MANY rides and tons of entertainment.

Right through the woods we carved out a little sledding hill. 

Living here feels like living in a snow globe dream. It would have been nice if we knew a few people to invite over to enjoy the snow with us though! Hopefully that will come with time.

Because really… this porch is just waiting for guests!
