Vintage Chair Re-Do
Remember how I said it’s furniture week, and I had this big goal to finish lots of furniture projects this week? I started with the nightstand, then this chair, then life happened. The biggest thing was that our home buyers fell through. Basically after the inspection we couldn’t come to an agreement on price, and we decided it was best to just start over from scratch. So… rather than sanding, staining, and painting furniture, I’m back to sweeping, dusting, and trying to keep the house “showing ready”. We’re praying that God will bring the right buyer to us quickly!
Before the house deal fell apart I did sneak in some time to work on this chair. I picked it up at an auction last week for $6.50!
Recently I’ve fallen hard for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It’s expensive but has really great coverage, dries fast, cleans up easily, and I like the matte finish.
It was sort of tough to paint an already upholstered chair, but with some careful moves I was mostly able to avoid the upholstery. I’m not sure where it will go in the new house, but for now it greets you just after walking through the equally bright front door!
For the close up:
Don’t you think this chair was just made to be white?? What a difference huh?!
Are you a fan of the chartreuse or is it a little too wild?? I know my sister would NOT be a fan, but I think it suits my style perfectly. She’s also the one who picked white and tan nursery bedding while I picked orange and lime green. Either way for $6.50 I’m pretty happy with this one!
