Ok… I’m sure you’re sick of reading about our flooring updates, but I’m on cloud 9 because we finally just finished the trifecta by getting new carpet in the living room!
It was actually a happy mistake when we had our basement carpet laid and there was EXACTLY enough carpet leftover to lay the upstairs living room too! So after discovering the extra carpet, our carpet guy agreed to put it down for a super deal, with the conditions that we had 1 week to be ready for it. That’s why we were so busy laying kitchen and bathroom flooring because when he laid the living room carpet he had to complete all the thresholds as well. Along with laying kitchen and bathroom flooring we had to:
-Paint the back of the living room door
-Paint the living room windows
-Remove the hearth
-Remove the living room register
-Paint the living room baseboard trim
-Remove the old carpet
Matt pulled the carpet out late Thursday night while I got to go out and he said that it was so thin that it practically pulled right apart. Thankfully when 8AM on Friday rolled around I was pulling the last nails from the hearth and the room was ready to go!
Just a little reminder of the before:
Now the after! No more jagged carpet edge, no more wood “L”, no more pebble linoleum. I also painted the door white which is SO much better.
I seriously just want to walk around barefoot and wiggle my toes in it. Such a simple thing that made for SUCH a transformation!
We still have to trim out the wall opening, and finish fixing the kitchen trim, but I am in love.
I’m seriously so excited to host playgroup and be able to have women having coffee at the table while mamas and babies play in the living room and have everyone be able to chat.
Whooohooo! Does this mean I will get my friend back? Cause I have missed her!
Great job! Looks awesome!
