We’ve lived in this house for 3 months now, and this is our first Christmas in this house. I’m still working on our year round decor, so I wanted to keep it simple for Christmas. We had exactly one nice day (as in above 30 degrees) since Thanksgiving and on that day I got out and hung wreaths, strung big faceted warm white lights on the house, and put up lighted garlands on the railings.
I also pulled out the boys Radio Flyer and put a couple lit trees in it. Jack has informed me numerous times that it’s HIS wagon, not my decor, and that I’m only borrowing it!
I also stuck faux poinsettias on each wreath for some extra color.
My tree is totally FILLED with ornaments, I think next year we’ll get a bigger one! It also has a train from my father-in-law that runs around the bottom of it.
Inside the house my new Gold Striped Opening accented all my Christmas decor perfectly!
I’ve got my “Put on Love” sign adorned with a paper chain the Jack made for me and my Christmas Village that my in-laws have given me.
This guy was an early Christmas present from my parents and I gave him a nice Christmas necklace!
My vintage ladder was a gift from a good friend and I just strung a lighted garland on it with some tule.
My newest permanent living room addition is this awesome antique door that I got at a garage sale for $10 last summer. I picked up the Peace Marquee sign from Target this year just for Christmas.
Then in the kitchen I’ve got this “Merry Christmas” banner my mom got me, along with my mason jars and garland above the cabinets.
I decided to keep it simple and only decorate the main rooms, maybe next year I’ll take it a little more throughout the house. I hope you enjoyed my Christmas Home Tour!
great decorating. Did you make the trees behind the village? Those are cool.
Thank you so much! I got them at Hallmark about 5 years ago, I LOVE them though and haven’t found anything similar anywhere since.
