It’s REVEAL DAY! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, maybe you’ve seen my sneak peeks, but today I’m revealing all the details on our board and batten bathroom with a farmhouse sink!

This is the bathroom that just four short weeks ago on Mother’s Day we demolished! I already shared all of those details in my “bathroom progress and plans post“, so head there to get the whole lowdown. In case you’re new, this is where this bathroom started!
It was 14 feet long and we stole the space where the vanity used to be for our master shower. This left is with a much smaller, but still functional hallway bathroom. To help understand the layout, here are the building plans I had submitted to the city showing the “before” and proposed “after”:
- Before Floorplan
- After Floorplan
After completing the master bathroom we lived with an incomplete hall bathroom for a full six months. Once I finally had recovered from ALL the tiling, my goal was to finish this one before the kids were out of school for the summer. I literally was doing the final cleaning as the kids came home from their last day of school!

**Post contains affiliate links** I’m not sure if the real showstopper in here is the floor or the farmhouse sink! The floor is “Tartan” tile from Floor & Decor, and the sink is the Kohler Brockway sink. I went with board and batten walls painted Nautica’s “Ice Water” and the shower tile is an oversized textured subway tile.

Because the sink doesn’t have any storage, I added this metal storage tower that works perfectly. I’ve considered adding a thin ledge under the mirror, but for now I’ll see if the tower is enough storage. For my kids that only use toothbrushes and toothpaste I’m sure it will be fine, but for guest’s more space to set things might be nice?
Along with the storage tower, we also have a large linen closet over to the right hidden behind the bathroom door. This provides tons of storage making a vanity cabinet somewhat unnecessary.Â
The art is a photo we took at Maroon Bells on a hike in Colorado years ago. I used Waterlogue to turn it into a faux watercolor. This toilet is our second American Standard “Clean” toilet which I LOVE because it goes straight to the floor without anywhere to catch dust or little boy pee!
Let’s talk more about this amazing double farmhouse sink. It was a big splurge but it was totally worth it. It required adding 2×4 bracing behind the wall when we had the walls opened up. I should note that it also requires using the Kohler Cannock Faucet, Soap Dish, Chrome Drain, and Chrome P-Trap. Honestly most of the time we use foam pump soap that we rest on the chrome soap dish, but for the photos I liked the look of the bar soap!
I’ve used this round 37″ mirror in client homes and in our last house and I just love it. It makes the bathroom feel so much bigger.
Other than the chrome fixtures on the sink, I chose matte black fixtures everywhere else. I really love the way that the matte black shower head and valves pop against the white tile. I used the exact same extra long 84″ white shower curtain in here that I used in our master bathroom. I just love the way a white shower curtain makes you feel like you’re at a fancy hotel!
For towels I chose these oversized Fouta towels and they’re amazing! They are like wrapping yourself in a blanket after a shower, and they dry much faster than traditional towels. The kids are loving them too!
When you look at this floor tile the grout appears to be white, but it’s actually called “sky” and it’s a very light gray. It’s the exact same grout that I used in the shower and when you see it against the white tile you see how much darker it actually is. I’m hoping that I’m able to keep it looking nice and bright!
The 4″x10″ tiles in the shower are just big enough to keep it from competing with the floor tile. I love that the tiles are textured giving it a bit more of a custom feel than standard flat subway tile.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see this modern bathroom reveal! It took a ton of hard work, and quite a bit of money, but other than the plumbing I was able to it all completely on my own! Even if you aren’t gutting and renovating an entire bathroom, I hope this post inspired you! Maybe to add a big round mirror, or to add some board and batten, or maybe just to switch out your towels for Fauta towels! Either way I’m so thankful that you’re here today!
