It’s been a while since I’ve shared a home tour, and I always love seeing everyone’s Christmas decorations. Today I’m sharing my modern Christmas home tour as part of the Winter Eclectic Home Tour hosted by Jess from Domicile 37! If you’re here visiting from Jess’ blog, then welcome! Make sure after you’re done here to check out Michelle Matangi who is next on the tour. I took a ton of pictures, and they really speak for themselves, so I’ll let you just walk through the photo tour of our Christmas home!
When you walk in our front door then entry is fairly small, but it was just big enough to add this wood bench.
I’m still LOVING how we redid our stairs by painting and adding a carpet runner. I had to add this fun banner to this space!
A few years ago I snagged a bunch of shutters on their way to the dump, with a coat of red spray paint this one is the perfect Christmas card holder!
Somehow I have amassed quite the collection of candlesticks. I love how these ones look scattered across our dining table.
I added some Christmas cheer to our bar cart area with some fun Christmas art. a poinsettia, and some greenery.
As much as I love the look of a beautifully styled Christmas tree, I also love how much meaning each and every ornament on our tree has. This year I used a combination of large and small bulbs on the tree, and then strung some wool and wood bead garlands. **affiliate links are used in this post**
Recently IÂ shared how I created my Christmas Mantel, and I am still loving the way the garlands pop against the black brick.
I don’t do too much decorating outside of the main living spaces, but I couldn’t help but put this gold deer in our powder room! I love how the brass pops against it’s black walls!
Upstairs my boys added a little tree that they decorated themselves in our reading nook.
In the master bedroom I just added a few bottle brush trees and a felt mistletoe garland.
Once I thought I was done taking pictures for the tour, it started to snow outside and I couldn’t help but take a few photos at dusk.Â
Of course I had to share a photo of the tree all lit up at night too. Lately we’ve been only turning on our Christmas lights at night and leaving all other lights off. It’s just sort of magical isn’t it?!Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Christmas tour! I hope that it inspired you and gave you new ideas for decorating your home! Now don’t forget to stop back each day and check out the rest of the homes on the tour! Merry Christmas!

Jess, this is gorgeous! i am so in love with your industrial piece with the trees on it and the deer head above it! LOVE!
Aw thank you so much! Being our first year in this house it was hard to decide where to put everything! Thank you so much for your sweet compliments.
I always love what you do to your home! The natural wood decor and architecture is absolutely perfect for your house setting and makes your home look so cozy. I also like how you chose to use red in your decor, it makes all the other elements pop. I love it girl!
Aw thank you! This home has it’s own Scandinavian/North Woods style that you just have to work with. It has really grown on me though and now I love it.
Beautiful, Jess! The red shutter as a Christmas card holder is genius, and I love the pops of red throughout! Plus, the front of your house is just meant for Christmas!
Aw thank you so much. I agree on the front of the house, the porch is just perfect for adding lots of Christmas Cheer to!
So pretty! So simple and beautiful! Love your mantel!
Beautiful, Jess! So warm and cozy, and I’m so jealous of the fact that you get to enjoy snow! Gorgeous!
Jess,
I love how your modern spin on the holidays still manages to feel warm and inviting. Beautiful work!
Much love,
Erica
It’s a fine line I ride, of wanting my home to look modern without being cold…. sometimes I sway too far both directions.
Jess, it’s gorgeous! I love your style. The mantle is gorgeous! You did such a great job of sprinkling Christmas cheer throughout your home. The red shutters are amazing, too! Great idea!
Thank you so much. The shutters were headed to the dump and I rescued them, now they’re one of my favorite Christmas elements!
Your home is so welcoming, even before you step into it. Love your holiday porch! The interior spaces are so cozy and inviting, especially with all the festive holiday touches! 🙂
Thank you so much. I hope that my home can always be an inviting place! It’s fun having a big porch to get to decorate after only having a small stoop in our last house.
WOW Jess I adore how you’ve decorated your home for Christmas! It has such a lived in feel and I love the industrial touches too! That brass deer is amazing and those shutters are such a fab idea!! I too love the meaning of the ornaments and how nostalgiac it all makes you feel xx
Aw that’s exactly how I want my home to feel! Thank you so much.
Your home is so welcoming! I love the shutter idea and your boys did a great job on the little tree they decorated. The snow pictures are beautiful, but I don’t envy being that cold! Merry Christmas!
Thanks! Right now we’re still loving the snow, but I doubt we will be in March and April!
This house tour has so many small and beautiful details that make it cute the perfect Holidays home! The small trees, garlands, accents, the red shutter for the Christmas cards… all gorgeous and simple. I love it.
Thanks Mila! It’s all been collected over the years but I just love pulling it all out! The bottle brush trees were the only new additions this year!
I love all the Christmas cheer in every room!! The shutter card holder is genius and your dining tablescape looks perfect. Thanks for sharing your holiday home!
Aw thank you! Because we only have one place to eat I don’t usually get to do much with tables capes. I had fun putting this together though!
It all looks so warm and cozy! Traditional with a modern twist. Love it!
That means so much coming from you! It is warm and cozy… it needs to be up here in the frigid north!
Beautiful! I love how it’s so “you.” Sometimes Christmas decor looks like it was a transplant, but in your case it all feels so organic and like it was meant to be. Love it!
Thank you so much. That’s exactly what I wanted. I actually donated a TON of stuff after reading your ornament purging post and re-thinking what direction I wanted my holiday decor to go.
Gah! Your home is so curated! I love that cognac chair and foot rest! And those candlesticks! I have major decor envy!!!
It sounds so nice to hear that it looks “curated”! That chair was a major splurge last year and I’ve never regretted it. It gets a TON of use and looks so much nicer than the recliners my husband wanted!
Not quite sure where to begin, I LOVE your mid-mod dresser, your fireplace garlands and your black and white all over, loving it all! Just fab!
Aw thank you so much! After living here almost a year I feel like the entire house is finally coming together!
What an incredibly cozy and charming home! Just love how rustic and inviting it feels. The holiday curb appeal of your front porch is truly off the charts!
It’s definitely rustic, we live deep in the woods of the Upper Peninsula! I’m glad I could make it look so homey! Thanks for your sweet comment.
Your home is so perfect for Christmas! I love all of the classic Christmas decor you used, it was calling my name! The snow outside just made it all that much better 🙂
Thank you so much. Being in the North Woods it really does feel like the perfect Christmas home! Sometimes the snow gets old, but right now I’m still loving it! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Love your mantel decorations and your stair runner–so pretty!
You are so sweet. Thank you for taking the time to comment! My mantel is probably my favorite part of my decor this year.
I’m so digging all of your home’s recent updates showcased so beautifully and all decked out in your Christmas tour. Those stairs…that brick fireplace…and that VIEW from your table to the mantel…so so amazing! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Aw thank you so much! It has been a busy year full of TONS of hard work! It’s nice to have it all pay off! Merry Christmas to you too!
Another vote for the red shutter being awesome!! The deer in the powder room looks great too.
Thanks so much! I know I just love how the brass deer pops against the black walls!
