Hello and Happy Friday! Today I’m super excited to share our new modern brass chandelier with you all! I had so much fun shopping for a new light that I rounded up twelve beautiful modern brass chandeliers, all under $300!
If you’ve been following for long you know it wasn’t that long ago that I revealed our finished dining room. Well…. since then I’ve decided to change up just about everything. Thankfully it’s all been done on a fairly tight budget. Our dining room was feeling too dark, and wanted to make some changes for summer. I also was getting tired of hitting my head on the old chandelier every time I wiped down the table. The Vennie light from Wayfair which was under $150 ended up being perfect in here!
Dining Room Before:
This winter my mom helped me hem these deep green velvet curtains and I really love the drama they bring to the room. I sold the black metal chairs after I found all six bentwood chairs on Craigslist for under $100. Another major change was to bring in this smaller and lighter rug which used to be in our old master bedroom! Even though the new curtains are darker having a lighter rug brightens up everything. The art ledge is on a constant rotation, based off of whatever the kids bring home from school each week!
I’m getting off topic though… let’s talk about this chandelier again. The bulbs have a chandelier base, but I decided to forgo the typical “Chandelier” shaped lightbulb in favor of these round 60watt LEDs. Each have a brightness of 500 lumens. Eight bulbs is enough to really light up this room. Using round bulbs really modernizes any fixture. Our store didn’t sell them in a frosted version, but I think round frosted bulbs would look cool too. I shortened the chain to about 18″. I’m hoping this new simple light will be easier to clean than the old one, which had a rough texture and seemed to catch dust. Also because the bulbs are higher I’m hoping to not be breaking anymore with my forehead!
The chair at the end of the table was a $10 Habitat Restore find and it’s become everyone’s favorite spot at the table. The wood actually matches the bentwood chairs perfectly too! For the rest of the sources from this room you can click on the images below (or double click on mobile).
When brass fixtures first started popping up they were ridiculously expensive, but I found all twelve of these awesome ones for under $300! If you’re considering modernizing your dining room these are all great options. Many of these modern brass chandeliers would also be great in a master bedroom. My friend Heather even hung one of them over her bathtub in her amazing bathroom!
Some of these also come in black as well if you’re just not into the brass look. I’m not an electrician, but switching out a light fixture is one of the simplest DIY’s that anyone can do! Just make sure you turn off the power first! Also a second set of hands can be helpful for holding up the fixture while the other person wires it.
