Welcome! Today I’m finally sharing my daughter’s modern girl bedroom here on the blog!
The only other pictures I’ve ever shared of her room were way back when I was trying to choose wallpaper. I ended up not even going with any of those papers because when I saw this AMAZING cheetah wallpaper her and I both fell in love and our minds were made up. Here’s a pretty terrible before shot:
The bed came from my parents house when they downsized and I haven’t been able to find it online anywhere. I moved that too small light fixture to our entryway, sold the blue dressers, and moved the MCM dresser in here from our master bedroom. This light is a chandelier from Menards that I just shortened the chain on! I just love the way that it all came together.
The bed canopy is from Target and it really cozies up the hard metal bed. My mom made the curtain panels for under $50 using “Eroica Milano Raspberry velvet” fabric from Fabric.com which seems to be discontinued. The roman shade is from Blindster, and it’s the same style as we have in our other bedrooms. This color is “Captiva Bone” and I cannot sing enough praises about these shades. They’re lined and block out 95% of the light, they’re thick, and they’re beautiful.
This rug from Wayfair is super affordable and really shines in this space! I was afraid with the cheetah wallpaper it might be too much pattern, but the cheetah is light enough that it reads as a neutral.
My daughter was born in Haiti so I love having the map of Haiti hung up in here. The other prints are just beautiful reminders that I hope she’ll never forget!
The chair is from Article and is the perfect size for in here, but also small enough to bring out to our living room every week when we host a small group. We have the matching one in the boys room next door.
Over on the other wall I’ve got this vintage dresser that is the perfect size for her little clothes. Eventually I’d love to get her a larger vintage lowboy but I just haven’t found the right one.
Finally, over near her door is this metal bookshelf from Sauder. Because she doesn’t have a nightstand it’s perfect for her alarm, nightlight, books, hair products, etc.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s modern girl bedroom reveal! This bedroom didn’t happen overnight and will still probably evolve as she grows up. I want to encourage you that you CAN create a beautiful room by combining accumulated pieces over time! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
