Almost every day I swing past my favorite thrift store. Typically I make my route through the store and I’m in and out empty handed in about 5 minutes. Well Last Friday was a totally different story when I pulled up and saw these Mid Century beauties sitting on the front sidewalk!
For $80 they were quickly paid for and loaded in the minivan. I was so excited I forgot to drop off the donations I had brought with me that day! Once I got them home I immediately got to work with my Howard Restor-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax. I explain the process in more detail here, but check out the amazing results!
Once they were dry I couldn’t wait to get them into my bedroom! Matt says it is NOT normal to get a new dresser every 4-5 months. I’ve tried to explain that when you find dressers this amazing it’s perfectly normal!
It’s like these nightstands were MADE to flank our bed.
My Side. Notice my heated mattress pad control peeking out from behind the lamp on the wall?! If you do not have one I HIGHLY encourage the investment! Best $100 ever spent.
Matt’s Side. With it’s unfinished gallery wall… which has been unfinished since we moved in. Time to get on that one! This chair is also my favorite place to escape to work, read, and blog from.
When we got our new windows this summer we replaced the tiny window that was above the bed for this nice window that’s as wide as the bed. This was an excellent decision because it means that we can have curtains flanking the bed rather than behind it.
Just for curiosity’s sake this is what the other side of the room looks like. We’ve got the barn door that my father in-law and I built, our closet door, and the door to the backyard. Originally I wasn’t a fan of the door out of the room, but after living with it for a year I do love being able to just step out and check the weather in the morning.
So there it is, our Mid Century Master Bedroom and my newest amazing thrifted find. How about you… what thrifted finds have you found lately? If you love thrifted Mid Century goods as much as I do you should check out The Gathered Home and Black and White Obsession‘s #ThriftScoreThursday.

What a score! The wood grain is so lovely and Restor-A-Finish is pretty darn miraculous, isn’t it?! Your room is looking awesome! Also, I completely understand cycling through furniture on a routine basis – it’s more fun that way! 🙂
Thanks! I only wish I would have discovered the Restor-A-Finish sooner!
