Last summer I shared on instagram that I picked up this awesome Mid Century Sewing Table at a garage sale for only $20!
Isn’t the brass hardware just gorgeous?
It actually was in much worse shape, but thanks to my favorite product ever, Restor-A-Finish I was able to get it cleaned up.
Funny Story…when I bought the sewing table it came with an old Pfaff sewing machine in it. I LOVE my machine so I decided to Ebay the Pfaff. I ended up selling that machine for $169! So actually this sewing table MADE me $149, rather than costing the original $20! Then, a few weeks later I had MY garage sale and the man who sold me the cabinet and machine stopped by. He remembered me and asked how “grandmas’s machine” was working out for me. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I sold it. I did tell him I LOVE the cabinet and that it fits in our home beautifully!
It actually has similar lines and similar tones to the Mid Century Credenza and I love how well they work together.Â
Now that our living room is sharing space with our “makeshift dining space“, I’m enjoying tweaking and adjusting everything… and moving furniture weekly.
Have you ever had a cheap garage sale find make you money? From now on I’ll always check inside old sewing tables for machines!
I’m the worst! I never check out garage sales and always wish I would. If I knew for sure I’d find something like I surely would start going!
