Switching out an Old Dishwasher
For the last 8 months we have been living with “The Dinosaur Dishwasher”. I think it may have been installed when the house was built in 1964? It was small, ugly, broken, and most dishes came out dirtier than they went in.
Then a few weeks ago I was doing my nightly cruise through the local online classifieds and came across this beauty! 6 years old, matches our current appliances, and only $200! (which I knew could be talked down to $150).
Fast forward to a month later after it sat in our garage taking up valuable space. My dad came to town for some work for a week and couldn’t resist giving us a hand with installing the new dishwasher! It was such a tight fit that he had to tear out the existing linoleum. That’s ok though, I’ve got bigger plans for that floor.
Although I would love to have updated to all stainless appliances, with a bill of about $2500-$3,000, I was ok waiting on that and settling on my $150 upgrade for now. Doesn’t it match the existing appliances well too? My dishes are sparklier than ever too! It’s the simple things right?
Now the question is who I can convince to take our free, “dishwasher dinosaur” off our hands??? Takers? Anyone? I’m hoping maybe if I just drop it off at the used appliance store they might take it as a donation?
