One of my favorite days of the year is just around the corner… May Day! Growing up in Minnesota I always had so much fun making May Day baskets and secretly delivering them to our neighbors. It wasn’t until I moved away to Michigan, then Colorado, and now North Dakota that I realized that it isn’t celebrated across the whole country!
Since it was such a fun tradition when I was a kid, it’s something that I have carried on with the boys. Last year I didn’t blog about our May Day Baskets with Cookies and Flowers, so I’m sharing them now as a little pre-May Day inspiration! We started out by making TONS of our favorite chocolate chip cookies and packaged them into these bags.
Next we got these little green flower pots, and packages of flower seeds.
Then we assembled them to deliver to our friends!
They made the perfect little surprise, that could then be planted by our friends!
The boys really did’t care too much what was in the baskets, their favorite part is always the ding-dong-ditching when delivering the baskets!
We’ve still got 10 days, but we’re already planning a fun surprise for this years baskets!
