This Half Minute to Win It 30th Birthday Party was SUCH a fun theme!
Last week my awesome friend Audrey turned 30, and we put together a little surprise party to celebrate! Audrey is fun loving, competitive, and young at heart which meant our theme of “1/2 Minute to Win It 30th Birthday Party” fit perfectly. We did a super casual brunch with just a few of Audrey’s close friends and comfort foods.
I made my grandma’s famous chocolate birthday cake which tasted delicious. I topped the cake with a “Happy Birthday Audrey” bunting made of scrapbook paper and stickers, hung on thread between two bamboo skewers. We also all just chipped in towards a spa day as a gift!
Audrey is the high school cheerleading coach, so I had a lot of fun with the “pom-pom” decor. Along with making a pom pom bunting I also used fabric strips to create more buntings. The giant A was just cut out of cardboard and spray painted!
The “1/2 minute to win it” games were so much fun and involved a ton of laughter. Audrey was the reigning champion on shaking the ping pong balls out of the attached kleenex box. I was the proud winner of the “pencil eraser bouncing target game”.

We also made a poster of the “30 things we love about Audrey”. It was easy to come up with our 30 things and now she has it as a reminder of how much we love her! We did this on a big posterboard, but this could also be written on a picture frame mat around the picture of your friend. Another idea would be to write these things on strips of paper and make a bunting or paper chain!
