Today marks 9 years of marriage for us!
I’ve been thinking a lot about wedding gifts and what some of our favorite wedding gifts were! When giving a wedding gift you want to give something that the bride and groom will use, need, and appreciate, and maybe even still love years down the road. After nine years we’ve replaced some of our wedding gifts, but many of them are still used daily! Here’s my take on our Wedding Registry Must Haves.
For the Kitchen
A. Kitchenaid Mixer– I inherited my mixer from my grandma, but 12 years later it’s still one of my most used kitchen items. I think this is a vital item in every kitchen.
B. White Mixing Bowls– I love having a good set of bowls that nest nicely. I also love that these are white and neutral!
C. One Good Pan– Of course you need more than one pan, but this is the pan that we use 90% of the time. We don’t hand-wash it, we’ve had to scrape it many times, and it’s still in great shape.
D. White Batter Bowl– This bowl was one of our wedding gifts (but green), and still gets used EVERY day! It’s great for berry picking, batter mixing, fruit washing, and everything else.
E. Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons– These spoons are nice and heavy, and were another wedding present that gets a ton of use.
F. Stainless Steel Measuring Cups– These match the measuring spoons and are so much nicer than any of the plastic sets that I have had.
G. White Dinnerware– I am SO glad that I took my mom’s suggestion and registered for white dishes! Neutral was definitely a good call. I’ve been able to accent my table with salad plates, chargers, runners, and other decor, but I’ve always been grateful to have simple white dishes.
H. A Good Blender– This is another item that gets daily use in our house. I know that there are a lot of fancier and more expensive blenders out there, but we love our $99 Ninja!
I. Down Comforter– For our wedding we chose nice bedding that we loved, and then immediately switched from a queen to a California king bed forcing us to come up with money for all new bedding. The one piece of bedding we still love is our down comforter.
J. Throw Blanket– We own three of these throw blankets and they are the thickest, warmest, softest blankets. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love one of these.
K. Nice Sheets– I’m a fan of owning one pair of sheets that you love, and then washing them and putting them right back on the bed. These Nate Berkus ones are my current faves.
L. Welcome Mat– The boys got me this mat for Mother’s Day and I think it’s one that any newlywed would love.
M. Spot It!– This is our families favorite game. It’s great for 2 players and small and storable.
N. Cornhole– Another classic game that any couple can enjoy! Whether they’re playing alone or entertaining this is a great newlywed gift.
O. Bananagrams– Can you tell we love games? Bananagrams is another that should be in every game collection.
P. A Good Drill– We started out with a cheap heavy drill and eventually updated to this one. It is our favorite and super useful. Every couple needs a good drill, even if they aren’t DIY’ers.
Back when we got married green and brown were my favorite colors, and my biggest regret with our wedding registry is that I leaned way too much towards green and brown items. Today the neutral items that I had registered for are the ones I love the most. Whether you’re completing your registry, shopping for a wedding gift, or upgrading some of your home items, I hope this list helps!
