It’s been a while since I shared anything from our girl room. Sometimes the wait is so long that it starts to feel like she’ll never come home. Then other times decorating her room makes it that much more real and gives me an opportunity to think and pray about her being here. The newest project in her room is this vintage modern girl gallery wall.
This gallery wall was really fun to put together. The turquoise blue was our wedding color, so I had the blue frames from our wedding pictures. All of the gold frames were thrifted finds. The faux plastic bamboo one on the bottom was so hideous, but I think is great painted gold! I filled it with a watercolor painting that Jack made “for his little sister”.
I used the same gold paint that I used on the popcorn tin lampshade and the accents of the navy dresser.
I filled the frames up with pictures that my friend Kathryn took for our adoption announcement!
The bottle of sand hanging on her mirror came from a girls weekend on Tybee island with the other adoptive mamas. It’s just an encouragement to remember that we’re not alone in this.
Pretty soon we’ll be moving and I’ll be packing this room up, all without her ever coming home to it. Even though I am really disappointed that she’ll never see it, it’s been still been a good process for me decorating it.
Maybe in the new house I’ll even have to paint another painted headboard!
And hopefully those pink boots will be on her feet soon, rather than on her nightstand!
Hi! Can you share the source for the rug?
Yes! It was from rugs USA. Here is the link: http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-maia-trellis/jade-green/200HJHK55F-508.html
