Wall Yes it’s 1 week to Christmas Eve and the rest of the blog world is in the middle of posting their Christmas decor, but I’m still in renovation mode, and can’t wait to share my most recent project! I can’t wait to tell you all about tearing down a non-load bearing wall!

We used to have this wall dividing the living room from the dining room and we hated it. It made the dining nook confined, and made the living room feel small. So last week while I was having coffee with a friend I casually mentioned, “I’m so sick of this wall I think I’m going to knock it down… today”. Knowing me she wished me luck and went on her way. As soon as Mase was napping I got out my hammer and crowbar and started into it.

There were SO many layers to it. It was just a 2 inch wall though and thankfully it wasn’t load bearing.

After a full naptime of prying, hammering, and hauling paneling out to the driveway this is what I had!
The boys were stunned and loved watching!

I didn’t tell Matt anything, and by 5PM when he walked in the door I was on the final pass with the vacuum. He couldn’t believe that I did it without his help! I was just happy to finally have it done!
We still have to frame out the opening and take care of the finishing work, but look how much better it looks!
I love that we can see from end to end! Entertaining will be SO much nicer too.
