This week I’m teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers to share each of our summer home tours! We’ve been in this house for about six months now. Even though it’s far from where we want it to be, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and remember what a great home we have. Our “Home Sweet Home”.
It’s just barely starting to feel like summer around here, and just last week I planted this flower box right in front of our house. We also spent last weekend spreading mulch. I am so excited that this house came with so many gorgeous perennials!
This living room is where we all spend the most time. I shared the details of how we work and play here in this post.
Our summer mantel is simple and bright, with a few candlesticks, paper garland, and lightbox.
**This post contains affiliate links** The lightbox has become one of my favorite decor pieces, and I’m constantly switching up what it says!
Recently I played musical furniture and shuffled a few pieces around. This black chest ended up in this corner and I love it in here!
Right now I’ve got lilacs blooming and I’ve brought tons of blooms into the house! I just love being able to cut fresh flowers straight from the yard!
Recently I added this awesome swing arm lamp from Target for only $29.99!! I haven’t figured out how to totally disguise the cord, but I love the added light it brings to the room.
Speaking of light fixtures, this West Elm Mobile Chandelier is still the best lighting decision I’ve ever made. Recently I picked up these black pots and faux plants from Ikea, for all three it was under $30. I love the bright and fresh look they give the table.
Of course I already shared all the details about my beloved bar cart and how to style it. If you haven’t read the post you can find it here. I’m pretty sure a bar cart is a new essential piece for every home!
Moving along to the front entry I still am obsessed with this shoe stretcher coat hook that I built.Â
I’m keeping things real by showing you this space at the top of our stairwell. The walls are still very yellow tinted, and I haven’t done much this space. I scored this amazing sofa last month for $50. I shampooed it like crazy and removed the skirt, but I haven’t gotten to painting it yet. Even though this space is far from done, it makes a great reading spot with the boys.
Their room is also far from complete, but I’m taking it slow and love how it is coming together. Last week I shared how I built these simple floating Lego shelves.Â
Our bedroom is really the only room in our house that I can call truly “finished”. That would be 100% due to the One Room Challenge that I just completed. These faux shiplap french closet doors turned out amazing and totally make the entire room.
For summer I swapped out one of our comforters in favor of this green blanket. To see all the details from our bedroom head here for the reveal post.Â
I hope that you loved getting a glimpse inside our summer home tour! Today you can also check out: Blue i Style, Polished Habitat, & Maggie Overby Studios. These girls are amazing and their homes will completely blow you away! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Also make sure to come back throughout the week to get the links to the rest of the tours! I will update them daily here!

It’s looking good so far but then again the house is always a work in progress right! Love the lighting on the built ins. I would love to add lighting to mine but I have the same situation with where to run the cord so I haven’t pilled the trigger yet. Great House!
Thank you so much! I’m thinking some white tape might just have to be the trick for hiding the cords. Yes… always a work in progress, I don’t know if a house could ever be truly “complete”.
i fall a little more in love with your living room every time i see it! and you have me wanting a light box so much! i need to find the right place for it! 🙂
You’re so sweet. I LOVE the lightbox, but now I’ve been seeing more and more of those black letter boards that are also AMAZING.
My favorite thing is your shoe stretcher hanger! So darn cute!
Thank you so much! I held onto those shoe stretchers for a LONG time before I finally decided what to do with them!
Your home has such great bones to work with, and I love all the updates you’re making. (That little corner is a fun space to play with!) And I totally agree with you on the bar cart discussion – no home should be without!
Aw thanks for your sweet comment. Bar Cart= Home Perfection!
Beautiful!!! Love seeing your a lot of your home in one post. The runners you used on the table is really nice! The coat rack is one of my favorite projects of yours. 🙂
I’m obsessed with the runner. I bought two of them because I would be so sad if something happened to it! Thank you so much!
Hi Jess! Your bar cart wins, hands down! I love that you put those peachy-pink candles in your candlesticks – what a bright and inexpensive way to add some color 🙂 Thanks for showing us around your home!
Aw thank you! Aren’t those candles great?! Recently I added two more candle sticks and I’m short two candles!!
I always love seeing your home and for someone who moved in 6months ago, you have accomplished so much!!!!!! Good job Jess! I love all the textures and patterns you have going on!
Aw thank you! As you know moving frequently means I never feel fully settled. I’m trying to just embrace the places that do feel like home.
Congrats on the new-ish home! Looks pretty lived in to me. 🙂 We have the same rug, but I love your black/ white color-way! Also SOOOO tempted by your light box. Love love love…. can I justify that as a first birthday present for the baby? 😉 xx
Thank you so much! I’m glad that it looks lived-in. After six months we’re starting to feel much more settled. I’ve learned there’s so many great homes that have that same rug, it’s a good one! Totally… use it as a party prop and you’re covered.
Your house is awesome! I LOVE the midcentury vibes!!! I love the green in your master bedroom, it’s a color I never would have thought to use but it looks SO good.
The tufting and lines of the “new” sofa are awesome. Love the collected feel of your home!
YES! That sofa was an amazing buy! Thank you so much!
I really adore your style! The rustic touches with the mid-century eclectic are just perfect.
Aw thank you Ashley! I’ve had a hard time figuring out what to really call my style… rustic/mid-century/eclectic is a good description! Thank you so much!
Your home is lovely! Your dining room and bedroom are both amazing, and that lightbox is too cool!
Thank you! The lightbox is super fun. I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour!
So many fun summery touches, but I especially LOVE that coat rack! I don’t know how I missed it before, but it’s so perfect!
Aw thank you! That means so much coming from someone with such great style!
Jess your house looks gorgeous! I love all the fun summer touches (and those trees!!! Our house was built on a former cow pasture) and that coat rack is killer! Thanks for sharing your home with all of us!
Aw thank you so much! The coat rack is super fun, everyone always does a double take when they hang up their coats. This is our first home here in the woods and we LOVE the trees. We moved here from North Dakota where there were NO trees.
Hi, Jess! This is the first time I’m visiting your home and I really enjoyed it! It looks like you’ve lived there forever–such a nice, collected look to your furnishings and accessories. I love the rug in your living room, and that coat rack is really unique. Those Target sconces tempt me every time I go shopping! Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home.
Thank you so much for you sweet comments. I’m so glad you loved it! The rug is wonderful, the only thing is I have to be sure not to stare at it when vacuuming because it makes me dizzy! I say go for the sconces, I don’t think you could find anything similar for a better price anywhere!
So welcoming and charming, Jess! I think your little marquee sign on the mantel is my favorite accessory!
Thank you so much! Isn’t it the best? It’s so fun switching up what it says all the time.
oh my gosh, there are so many cool things happening in your house! I can’t believe you’ve only been there for 6 months. Love the living room mantel and cow skull and where you placed the black chest. It looks so curated and eclectic. Still crushing on your bedroom with the floral curtains and gorgeous doors. Can’t wait to see what you do at the top of the stairs. That sofa is a great find and it already looks so cozy!
PS I totally need a bar cart. Still hunting for one. (the challenge is finding furniture that will ship out here!)
Thank you so much your sweet sweet comment. You are so kind. It’s been a busy six months! I’m pretty excited to do something at the top of the stairs too! Hopefully getting that couch painted soon! YES you DO need a bar cart! I’m pretty sure it’s the new decor staple.
