Ever since painting my kitchen cabinets black I’ve wondered if I should have done something a bit more fun and exciting? Even though our kitchen appears bright in photos, the truth is that it’s actually pretty dark back here. I’ve contemplated putting in a skylight, enlarging the one kitchen window, or adding a full glass back door. We also only have the three pendant lights as the lighting for the entire kitchen. I can’t deny that painting the cabinets a lighter color would help it to feel brighter in here. I’ve always had a soft spot for moody green kitchen cabinet paint colors and I’m wondering if it’s time to follow suit in my own kitchen?!
I’ve rounded up nine of my favorite green kitchens and the names and brands of each of their paint colors! You’ll notice that many of the kitchens photograph VERY differently than how the colors look on a computer screen or a paint chip. If I go with a green paint color I think I’ve narrowed it down to: Green Smoke, Forest Floor, and Vintage Vogue. Now I need to get samples of each of these to see how they look in my own dark kitchen. With a moody green color this is an important step because if you get it wrong it’s so much time and energy to fix.
