Hi friends! My friend Jess from Domicile 37 is hosting the Summer Eclectic Home Tours and I’m so excited to be a part of it! Honestly I only decided on Friday to participate, and ran around quickly shooting every room in our house. Not every room is perfectly staged, or even perfectly clean, but I’m excited to show you our modern Summer home tour.
Outdoors things are just started to bloom and green up, here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Spring comes later than the rest of the country. Just last weekend I mulched a TON, planted a hydrangea bush, planted my flower basket, and my hanging plants.
I’m absolutely LOVE our entry now that our faux painted cement tiles are done. I’ve been working on adding a gallery wall all the way up our stairwell but I still need quite a few more frames and photos.
Recently I decided to move the artwork from the mudroom into the living room where it could be seen even more. I’m really happy with how it looks above the piano in here.
In our living room the constantly changing built ins are always rotating through each seasons favorite finds. Otherwise this room usually looks fairly similar. I still have no regrets over painting the fireplace black.
This little corner of the living room got switched up when I moved the card catalog in here, and the piece that was here before into our dining room. I still love the way my hanging planters look here in the corner.
Our living room is where I blog from, where the kids mostly play, and where we spend countless hours watching Netflix. I love that this room is full of lots of comfortable seating and plenty of bright light.
Even though this is a summer home tour, I still have my Winter art prints in the poster frames! See… I told you this isn’t a perfectly staged tour! I’ll work on shooting some summer ones to share on the blog soon. Otherwise our dining room hasn’t changed much since adding the upholstered chairs to the table. I shared about it in a blog post recently, but soon we’ll be shortening up the table and expanding the peninsula to have a breakfast bar. I can’t wait to have the additional spot for the kids to eat!
Our lilac bushes just started blooming and I LOVE being able to cut fresh lilacs for the table. They smell AMAZING and look gorgeous too.
I also snagged a few apple blossoms off our our apple tree for on our bar cart. Our bar cart is “summer ready” full of the right ingredients for plenty of mule drinks
I mentioned we’re making some kitchen upgrades, one of those will be installing a new backsplash. I’ve had the patterned cement tiles sitting out for a while but I think I’ve finally decided to go with a more neutral backsplash. I still haven’t decided whether or not to paint the cabinets though.
Our hall bathroom is incredibly difficult to photograph, so I did it in two parts. I carried my DIY painted cement tile into the bathroom. Last year I updated this bathroom with paint and I love how it all came together.
Being that the reveal was only a month ago, the mudroom still looks pretty similar to the day it was revealed.
The only change in here is that when I moved the art into the living room I hung this Ikea picture wire here for the kid’s artwork.
Our master bedroom also hasn’t changed much since I refreshed our bedding for Spring.
In our tiny master bathroom we just recently switched out our bulky vanity for this smaller Ikea vanity. Hopefully soon I’ll be doing a whole post on this tiny bathroom.
Ysa’s room also still looks pretty similar to the day is was revealed. You can’t tell in the picture, but the bedding is a vintage quilt that is actually pretty beat up and I’m on the hunt for the right bedding to replace it with.
Her wallpaper is still one of my favorite things and I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it!
Not too long ago I replaced the old roller shades in the boys room with these bamboo blinds. Otherwise their room hasn’t changed since I painted their “night sky mural” and built their “floating lego shelves“.
I’m still SO happy with the budget makeover that I did on this bathroom earlier this year.
Just last week I hung this faux taxidermy in our reading nook. Even though this is only a hallway this space gets TONS of daily use. I’m so happy that we converted it into a usable space.
I think I hit just about every room today! Well… other than the basement. Down there is a disaster zone that has never graced the pages of my blog. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I enjoyed having the chance to walk you through our home! Make sure you check out the other bloggers on the tour too! Each day this week there’s four bloggers sharing their unique and beautiful homes! I know that I cannot WAIT to see them all!
