This black and white shared modern kids room might be low on color, but it’s high on style!
Recently I’ve become good friends with Alison Clark of Curio Design Studio. When I mentioned to her that I wasn’t sure what to blog about next, she offered to let me share this GORGEOUS modern kids room with you all! One of the services that Ali offers is the “Single Room Fix“. This is a completely online service where she offers a design plan, shopping list, 3D renderings, and a 30 day e-mail follow up. This shared kids room is the result of one client’s Single Room Fix!
The goal of this room was to create a gender neutral shared space using pattern rather than color. I love how even though the room is all black and white it still has TONS of character.
Because there isn’t room for nightstands, instead Ali added little baskets that can hold a few books next to each bed. By adding storage ottomans at the foot of each bed it creates space to sit, as well as additional storage for the kids toys.
These large marquee letters personalize each child’s side of the room. They also add a really fun element to the space.
The dresser may be one of my favorite elements in the whole room. It’s actually a converted changing table!
They kept the decor in this room minimal, but used a few key plants and books to accent the room.
Even the art in this room is monochromatic but is so charming. I spent forever checking out the rest of the art from the same Etsy seller.
The rug is similar to the large geometric Ikea rug, but this version is much more plush. On hardwood or tile floors a plush rug like this is the perfect way to warm up a room.
