Hello and Happy October! I planned on decorating for Fall like I always do, but after some pleading from the kids, we decided to decorate for Halloween! This is our first year going all out with the Halloween decorations so I wanted to share our modern Halloween Decor with you all!
Probably my very favorite decoration is these stick on bats! **Post Contains Affiliate Links** I love the way that make a big 3D statement and pop against our white walls. They were super cheap too and I think as long as I get new tape I’ll be able to use them year after year!
When I saw these adorable dancing skeletons I knew they’d be perfect against our black fireplace. They’re actually holographic but I have them turned backwards so ours our white. Combined with the “Happy Halloween” banner I love the way it looks.
In our little built in nook I added the ceramic pumpkin that my grandma painted for me when I was little. It makes me think of her every time I see it!
My middle son created the ghost letterboard and I think it’s adorable. He was so proud of it too.
I’ve got quite a few candlesticks that I love, so Halloween is the perfect excuse to pull out the black taper candles!
You might have caught my instagram story sharing this amazing oil painting I found at Goodwill for $15!!! I’ve already moved it from our dining room to above the piano and I think this is where it will stay. For now at least.
The fireplace got adorned with this spiderweb runner and these brass crows that I’ve had for years.
I haven’t put out all of my Fall Decor yet, but this bread bowl looks perfect on our coffee table filled with faux gourds and pumpkins. I used to do real ones but they would always rot and get stinky before I was done with them!
The framed skeleton is actually a piece of flat wrapping paper in a Goodwill picture frame!
I grabbed two of these orange velvet throw pillows that add the perfect pop or orange. Fall is also when I am sure to add lots of throw blankets.
I did the Halloween decorating for the kids, but I have to say I had a ton of fun with it and I love how festive this room feels!
Over in our kitchen this paper skeleton greets everyone who enters! His joints are moveable and every day I find the kids positioning him a different way!
I’ve been ready to paint my kitchen cabinets for weeks, but I have to say that the black feels like it was meant for Halloween!
Although it’s not considered decor, I’ve almost always have pumpkin treats around and they made the perfect photo prop! We’ve been making these pumpkin chocolate chip muffins weekly.
Over on the board and batten wall, I added this spiderweb garland that looks great against the white background.
On my photo ledge I swapped out the old art for this Fall oil painting that I picked up on Facebook Marketplace for $12! I also printed a photo of our black cat Frosty because she felt very “Haloweenie”!
So there it is, our house all decked out for Halloween! I never would have expected to have so much fun with Halloween decorations! I’m pretty sure you could buy EVERYTHING that I have for under $100! To shop the decor, you can click on the photos below.
P.S. If your kids don’t have costumes yet, check out my guide to Non-Scary Halloween Costumes! I’ve got one going as Harry Potter, one Inflatable T-rex, and an Elsa (with a DIY’ed black braid). My Elsa is just too darn cute for me not to share with you!
