Hey Friends! Today I’m sharing a few of our modern bathroom updates. If you’ve been reading for a while, maybe you’ve followed the WHOLE story of this bathroom. If not, I’ll give you a quick refresher of our bathroom over the past year…
When we bought our house and I took you on a new home tour, the master bathroom looked like this:
It didn’t have a shower, and only had a single vanity. I shared my planning and demolition for this bathroom here:
Basically, we stole space from our oversized hall bathroom to add space to the tiny master bathroom. Here were those plans:
Then I shared the process of installing subway tile EVERYWHERE. I’m still recovering.
I also shared how I converted an old dresser into a bathroom vanity here.
Finally I shared my beloved staged and styled master bathroom here.
One thing I just never quite fell in love with was the red rug. I had seen red rugs that I LOVED on Instagram and I really wanted this trend to work in my home. I even went as far to put a red rug in the kitchen too! As I styled and staged our home even more, I realized that I was trying too hard to make the red work and it just never felt like “me”. Finally I caved and sold the red rug and replaced it with this greenish/gray rug and it feels perfect.
Along with this update, I also swapped out the mirror in here. The first one was a vintage mirror and it had so many imperfections that often I couldn’t tell if I had something on my face or on the mirror! It was also a bit smaller than the updated mirror. I picked this one up from World Market and because ALL of the mirrors were scratched pretty badly I got it for 50% off! I’m hoping some rub and buff will take care of the scratches.
The only other updates in here were minor accessorizing… and a new toilet brush and trash can that didn’t even make it into these photos! (Blogger fail… I’m sorry. They’re tucked next to the toilet). I LOVE the amber soap pumps from World Market so much that I saved them and have been using them for shampoo and conditioner! I also snagged a few more of the fouta towels that we have in the kids bathroom and love so much.
Thanks to selling the old rug and the old mirror, these updates were very affordable. I hope that I’ve encouraged you to make changes to help you love your home! Often it’s a simple thing like new towels, or a new mirror, that can transform your space!
