Bright Green Door

Come on in and be inspired!

Holiday Home Tour- Kids Edition

November 23, 2020 By BrightGreenDoor

Hey friends! This weekend I pulled out all my Christmas bins and started decorating! The only spaces that are mostly done are the kids rooms, so I wanted to share our Holiday Home Tour- Kids Edition with you all today! If you’re here from Inspiration for Moms, welcome! It’s great to have you here!

Modern Pink Glam Girl Room

Modern Glam Pink Girl Room

My daughter loves all things sparkle, cheetah, and glam, and her room is a reflection of that! A few years ago she picked out a little white tree that sits just right on top of her dresser. I added the “Merry Christmas” banner and the mistletoe garland over here as well.

On her bookshelf I just added another mistletoe garland, and a few of her Christmas items.

For Christmas I swapped out the pictures in her gallery wall with these prints that I purchased on Etsy! It was so simple that I purchased, downloaded, then uploaded to Office Depot, and picked up within two hours! I also hung her advent wall hanging on top of a piece of art by taping the string to the back!

Horse Print * Falala Print * Nutcracker Print

Across her window I hung a tinsel garland and a “Merry Christmas” banner.

Her room is an example of how you can make a kids room fun and festive, without needing to buy much or do a ton of work!

Vintage Modern Cheerful Boy Room

The boys room involved a little more work, mainly because they have a full size tree in here! They’ve both been collecting ornaments their entire lives and at 10 and 12 need a full size tree to fit them all!

Boys Shared Desk Modern

When the kids went virtual last year, I built this double campaign desk by attaching a desk and a dresser and adding a marbled laminate top. It is the perfect place for a HUGE gallery wall. I had fun swapping out some of their art for Christmas themed artwork! Look close to see how we turned their deer into Rudolph!

I tossed some red throw pillows onto their beds, and hung a wreath and banner above their beds. It’s perfect how their tree wallpaper works with their Christmas decor!

The boys room was a lot of fun to decorate, and since photographing it earlier today I’ve already tweaked their Christmas gallery wall a bit!

Thank you so much for checking out my Holiday Home Tour- Kids Edition! I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new in your kids rooms this Christmas! Make sure you also check out Chelsea from Two Twenty One because she’s got some AMAZING ideas for kids holiday spaces!

Can you please share the source information on those awesome desks you made in your boy’s room?

Aw thank you! Sadly I didn’t take photos or share anything! Basically though… it was a desk and a dresser. I bridged them together with a piece of plywood that I painted to match. I also added a “false front” to the space that I bridged to make it feel more “desk-like” and not just plywood. Then I used a sheet of marble linoleum from Menards, cut it to size, and rolled it onto the top. Its LONG but it works great for both boys. One kiddo got the left side of the desk drawers, and the other got the right side of the desk drawers. We use the other dresser for clothes. I hope that helps? Sorry I didn’t take pics!

I really love the boys’ room. It feels like my dream lake house. Make space. I’m moving in.

Jess, I love all your Christmas touches! The gallery wall above the kids’ desks is SO fun and festive, and of course I love the tree in the boys’ room.

They are both so great! I love the garland and sign in your daughter’s room and the wallpaper in the boy’s is such a perfect backdrop for Christmas! Happy to be on a blog hop with you Jess. 🙂
