Hey All! It’s been a whirlwind few days of decorating and today I’m joining a bunch of other outstanding bloggers to share our #VeryMerryChristmasHomeTour hosted by Carrie from Lovely Etc.! If you missed it last week I shared our Christmas Kids Spaces. Today I’m sharing our Living Room, Kitchen/Dining Room, and Basement! So here it is… our BrightGreenDoor Christmas Home Tour.
Living Room Christmas Decor
**Post contains affiliate links** Because we moved our flocked tree to the basement, that meant I was on the hunt for the perfect living room tree. I wanted something minimal and Scandinavian and this tree I got at Target is perfect! This year I dehydrated orange slices and LOVE the way they look draped on the tree.
For Christmas I really want the nativity to be the star, so I backed my built in with a black board
At Christmastime I always add these red pillow covers over whatever pillows I already had on the sofa. They’re the perfect pop of red!
I stole the mirror from my daughter’s bedroom for above the piano and I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! I really love the simplicity of a mirror and the way the garland looks draped there.
Kitchen/Dining Christmas Decor
My kitchen got extra festive this year with this wreath hung on my hood vent! I also tied bows to the sconces, and am displaying my Santa mugs and cookie jar (used to hold kitchen utensils).
My black and brass kitchen feels like it was meant to display Christmas decor!
This kraft paper roll has become my favorite all-year-long decoration! It’s as simple as just writing a new message for each holiday!
This Christmas poster is actually sheet wrapping paper that I framed in a poster frame. Now I’ve got tons of ideas for other cute papers I keep seeing.
I picked up this tree card display from Ikea and it couldn’t be more perfect!
The bookshelves got a little “Christmas Makeover” as I made room to display all of our Christmas books.
I decided to print out Luke 2 (the story of Jesus’ birth) and display it on my picture ledge. It’s the perfect reminder of what we’re celebrating.
My son helped me set up my Christmas village, and it’s something that brings me joy daily. He’s constantly re-arranging the villagers and I love seeing his creative displays!
Basement Christmas Decor
This is our first year with a finished basement, and I took the opportunity to decorate another space!
I’m so excited to finally have a mantel to hang our stockings from! I kept it really simple and just hung the stockings with some red beads.
I also added this old red shutter and Christmas sign that I got a few years ago.
The flocked tree is extra special because it was my late Father-in-laws. I love how the red beads pop against the flocking! We spend so much time down here that it’s nice to have it be as festive as the upstairs.

Oh my goodness! Your home looks beautiful decorated for Christmas. For your upstairs tree, I love the orange slice garland that you made. Backing your shelves with black board looks great along with your painted black fireplace and it really makes your nativity the star of your shelf decor. Framing Christmas wrap is a great idea and one that I plan to try. I so much enjoyed seeing your home this Christmas season.
Thank you for taking the time to read and leave such a kind comment! I’m so thankful I you love it and that I could inspire you.
I love your black kitchen! and your black and white Christmas accents. You have a beautiful home.
Thank you Lindsey! My black kitchen really feels like it was meant to display Christmas decorations!
Love the idea of baking the built in black to have the nativity pop Jess! I will definitely keep that in mind for some built in I have here. Your home looks beautiful decorated for Christmas. Merry Christmas!

You’ve got such a beautiful home Jess and it looks so magical and cozy all decked out for Christmas! Happy holidays!
Thank you Kristi! It really is such a cozy and inviting space. Makes me never want to leave!
What a lovely home! I kept seeing little details that charmed me. I’m smitten with villages so I love yours. The verses on the dining room ledge – so clever and unique. The IKEA card holder – what a fun piece. And that basement tree and fireplace – just a cozy spot. I would want to spend lots of time down there.
Aw thank you Kim! I love my village so much too! Just last night my son and I added some new accessories for this year.
So many creative and charming touches tucked throughout it’s hard to pick a favorite! Everything just looks effortlessly gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your home 🙂
Aw thanks Corey. SO glad you love it. I feel the same way.
Everything from the orange slices to the white ceramic houses to the red pillows, your home at Christmastime is so lovely and inviting. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!
Aw thank you Meegan. Inviting is exactly how I want it to feel!
Beautiful Christmas decorations!! Love the black behind your Nativity which absolutely makes it stand out…and we so need it to stand out this year especially. I could lounge in your basement all day!!! Sooo pretty with the decorations and so nice you still can use your Father -in-law’s tree! Thanks for sharing your home at Christmastime!! Have a Blessed holiday!!
Aw thank you so much! Yes we never want to leave the basement! Once you sink into that couch it’s over! Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!
Everything looks so festive. I love the framed wrapping paper and the little holiday houses. And your black fireplace and cabinets are stunning.
Thank you so much! I love how the black sets everything off!
I love how you do Christmas with the dark fireplace and moody kitchen! So fun to see the basement all decked out too! Beautiful tour. Totally swooning over the orange garland.
Aw thank you Kathy! I’m obsessed with the orange garland too. I’ll definitely be making more in future years!
