Remember our Modern Industrial Bathroom Mood Board? Well it’s come together even more since my last update! Last week I shared some wall planking tutorials that were helpful for us. Today I’m sharing the black and planked bathroom update! It’s just an update because we still have a ways to go in the bathroom. Right before we left for our weekend getaway we finished grouting the tile. We went with a charcoal grout to hide our tiling imperfections. We learned a lot during our first tile project, but I’m still pretty happy with how it turned out.
I went with a pure black paint on the walls and I love it. I think the black works in here because the entire shower will be white, and the planking is white. It’s the perfect amount of contrast.
I really wanted to do the Ikea Godmorgen floating vanity, but when my parents made an Ikea run for me it was out of stock, so I went with the Hemnes vanity. I still really like it though. I went with this Elite single handle faucet in Oil Rubbed Bronze and I love the way it looks. The one thing I don’t love is that with Ikea sinks you have to use the nickel pop up and overflow hardware. I wish I could have chosen oil rubbed bronze for those.
Because we haven’t caulked or painted the trim yet you can still see the imperfections. Once that’s done though it will look amazing.
I still need to figure out where the toilet paper holder and the towel hooks will go. It’s such a little bathroom there just isn’t room for much.
I did get this wall mount towel rack from Crate & Barrel that I LOVE. It also adds necessary towel storage since we will need the vanity drawers for our toiletries.
This week we will be tiling the shower, and finishing up the loose ends, hopefully by next week I have an entire bathroom reveal for you! Take a look at how far this sad little bathroom has come!
