Midweek Randoms

My sister Brittaney at TheKrazyLife is known for her mid-week randoms, and when I went to put together a blog post all I could come up with was a bunch of random information, so in Brittaney style, here it is:

-I am in the middle of 5 sewing project all with upcoming deadlines and I have absolutely no desire to pull out my machine and sew right now. Looks like a few self-induced late sewing nights will be coming my way.

-There is a dirty diaper in a Wal-Mart bag on our roof in the gutter. It's been there for a few days. In the middle of a snow storm I didn't want to walk out to the trash so I attempted to fling it from the front door to the trashcan and flung it a little too high and too close to the house. Until Matt gets it out it is currently residing in our gutter. #WhiteTrash

-Our basement carpet is going to be laid next Tuesday. Between now and then we need to: tape, mud, and sand the drywall, texture ALL the walls, prime ALL the walls, paint the walls, paint the ceiling, remove the old carpet, and paint the stairwell. Similar to my sewing projects I have accomplished NOTHING on the basement in the last 48 hours. MAJOR PROCRASTINATOR. I will likely be pulling an all nighter next Monday night.

-It's January 3rd, all of our Christmas decorations are still up, and they're probably not coming down anytime soon. Maybe the lights will bring some cheer to a typically dreary February?

-I still have some Christmas cards to send out. Should I just give up and do better next year? If yours is in this pile I haven't tracked down your address. I also didn't order enough and somehow ran out of cards when giving them out at church.

-The church Christmas decorations are also still up. They cannot stay up until February. Must come up with a plan!

-Today I took the boys to the pool. While I questioned the lifeguards about where the boys lost and found life jackets could possibly have been put, I watched Mase walk into water that was above his head. After yelling, "go back" like 4 times I had to jump in and save him. He was fine and laughed. Minutes later the lifeguards surfaced our "Lost" lifejackets!

-Book 24 of our Advent books still is unopened. There were just too many other gifts and the boys haven't asked about it since!

-On Christmas day I thawed a ham, and then realized that an uncooked ham takes WAY longer to cook than I had allowed for. It is still sitting thawed and uncooked in the fridge. Do you think it's still safe to cook it?

OK so it seems that the jist of my "Midweek Randoms" is that I am a major procrastinator and that I need to get it together. I'm really not normally this bad. I think Christmas Break is getting the best of me. Time to stop procrastinating.

  1. Oh Jess, if you are a major procrastinator then I am just a slug! You have a lot going on (clearly!) and while I don't advocate hiding from your to-do list, give yourself a break friend. :) You get more done in 1 week then I accomplish in 2 or 3 months. Seriously. Love reading about your new life in ND! Happy New Year.

  3. Thanks GIrls... you guys all make me feel a little better about life. The truth is even though I get a lot of projects done, half the time what you don't see is that I'm barely keeping up with everyday life. There are currently 8 clean baskets of laundry to put away in my room. Last week the boys had pizza for dinner 3 times. My bathroom floor hasn't been mopped in weeks (wiping up slashes from the tub counts for something right). Often I choose projects over things I should probably be doing instead... anyways, thanks for the Encouragement!
